These tours offer a fresh window into the vision and mission of this Grace Network, rooted in community, connection and sustainable impact. Come and explore the exciting spaces being brought to life inside our building, and take a closer look at the unique heritage features of this Grade II listed building at the heart of Cirencester.

We are excited to welcome The Cirencester Workbench to The Old Department Store.

The Cirencester Workbench (TCW) is a welcoming, hands-on space where people can gather to learn & swap practical and creative skills. It brings together existing local forces for good - the Cirencester Repair Café, Makers and Menders, Dr Bike, The Men’s Shed, Cirencester Clothes Swap and Quin Woodcraft. Alongside existing sessions that these endeavours already deliver in the Cirencester area, TCW provides a new space and opportunity for additional sessions & workshops, that will allow these activities to grow, reaching more people, more often.

MINI CRAFT & CREATE Sessions!

A relaxed, creative session designed especially for early years children, focused on exploring, making, and sparking imagination through simple, hands-on crafts!

Each week will feature a new creative activity, inviting little makers to experiment with different materials, textures, and ideas in a welcoming and inspiring space.

While the session is tailored for younger children, slightly older siblings are very welcome too, we love to nurture creativity at all ages and will always aim to engage a range of interests.

Home-educated families are warmly invited to join us.

Calling all young performers!

This is your chance to take the stage and showcase your talent in a fun, friendly and supportive environment. Whether you sing, rap, tell jokes, perform poetry, play music (or have another talent to share) we’d love to see you perform.

We'll provide a PA with a microphone as well as an acoustic guitar. It’s free to take part and slots are available on a first come, first served basis- just turn up!

We’re excited to welcome the wonderful Grace Lightman to The Old Department Store on Thursday 5th November for the next event in our live music series, The Long Table Lates!

London born, Devon based Grace Lightman creates experimental indie pop that sits somewhere between the familiar and the unexpected, blending bold synth-driven worlds with intimate songwriting, playful ideas and a distinctive sense of character.

Known for her imaginative approach to production and storytelling, Grace’s music pairs experimental textures with melodies that feel instantly recognisable. Her work draws from classic pop sensibilities while pushing them into stranger, more futuristic territory, inviting listeners into a richly imagined, emotionally honest sonic work which is unmistakably her.

Support for this show comes from Dear Robot; the solo music project of Stroud-based filmmaker & composer Tom Jacob.

We’re delighted to welcome the fantastic Old Spot to The Old Department Store on Friday 4th December!

Old Spot (Rowan Piggott & Joe Danks) burst onto the scene in 2023 with a critically acclaimed debut album and a whirlwind UK tour, quickly establishing themselves as a fresh force in old-time music. Praised for their raw energy and expressive musicianship, the duo lit up stages across UK/EU folk, bluegrass, and old-time festivals.

Now, in 2026, Old Spot continue to push the boundaries of stringband tradition – digging deeper into the roots of old-time while crafting a live show that’s equal parts intimate and electrifying. Their forthcoming album, recorded in the Scottish Borders, captures this evolving sound with fresh material and atmospheric arrangements. Whether trading close harmonies, ripping into a tune, or experimentally reworking a classic, Old Spot captivate audiences with a sound that’s both steeped in tradition and boldly original.
